In-house software

The dredging processes and the circumstances under which dredgers operate are governed by many variables. To determine which are relevant and so to optimise the performance of dredgers and dredging equipment, MTI has developed software programs for the:

• Modelling of the behaviour of centrifugal pumps.
• Calculation of the interaction between pumps and pipelines. This program allows us to select the correct pump for a given situation and to advise clients on their use.
• Calculation of the loading time of a hopper, incorporating overflow losses.
• Calculation of cutting performance including dynamic response for varying cutter, drive and shaft layout.
• Calculation of the response of a dredger working in a seaway in order to estimate workability.
