MTI HOLLAND B.V., member of the IHC Merwede group, was founded in 1942 in Delft. Today MTI, one of the leading research and development institutes for dredging, dredge mining and dred­ging equipment is situated at Kinderdijk, in the centre of Holland and the centre of the Dutch dredging industry. Originally founded for research and development projects on behalf IHC Merwede only, nowadays MTI also offers its services to third parties, in particular dredging companies, government institutions and consultants. With more than 50 years of experience, MTI has gained access to a vast network of information and capability sources.

We offer the following range of services to our clients:

  • Feasibility studies, consultancy including environmental dredging studies and arbitration
  • Research and development including computer simulations and laboratory investigations
  • Concept design of equipment for special applications

MTI’s main expertise concerns the interaction of soil, site conditions, dredging equipment and dredging.

Various special products of IHC Merwede in the field of dredging have been developed by or in co-operation with MTI. This has resulted in a high knowledge level on dredging equipment and dredge components.

MTI regularly carries out joint studies with third parties like the Delft Universi­ty of Technology, dredging companies and major civil engineering consultants. This ensures that we remain at the cutting edge in our specialised fields.
